H2R Consulting are currently seeking a talented (or up and coming) Financial Accountant Team Leader. This role sits within the wider finance team of a medium sized NZ owned corporate organisation. 

The position is a hands on role which includes all aspects of financial accounting, as well as light touch leadership of two staff members. 

We are also open to consider people who are currently working as Assistant Accountants wanting that next step in their career.

Important details:

Base pay: $80,000 – $85,000
WFH / Flexibility: Ability to WFH 2 days per week once trained
Location: Wellington CBD
Start date: Jan 2025

About the role:

This is an excellent opportunity to join this established NZ-owned corporate as a Financial Accountant. Based in Wellington City, this full-time role will see you providing high-quality financial accounting and reporting services to the business. You will play a key part in maintaining the integrity of the company’s accounts and financial records.

Tasks include:

• Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports
• Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts
• Assisting with the preparation of statutory reporting and tax filings
• Collaborating with other finance team members to improve processes and controls
• Providing ad-hoc financial analysis and business support as required

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge

• Relevant degree or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a finance role.
• Either working toward CA or CA qualified (or similar).
• Experience using large FMIS (Tech 1 / Business Central / SAP etc)
• Experience utilising MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel (essential).
• Good accuracy and numeracy.
• Able to pass a criminal and credit check.
• A clean drivers licence.
